Action Plan Before hiring a Design agency for your Pizza Shop in Lahore
Maheen is a solopreneur just like you who took a stance and opened a Pizza Shop of her dream and now she want to put that shop online like everyone does to market and increase sales, the same way any smart digital marketing agency in Lahore would tell her to. But she decided to give a cool look and feel by giving a clear user experience of Pizza Deliciousness hell yeah…
She was having really a hard time thinking from where she should start Hire a Freelancer or Hire a digital marketing agency in Lahore to tackle this job but she was unable to decide because there are lots and lots of agencies out there some charge too much some provide cheap services.
Ahh She was so damn confused…
Then she decided to research online a bit to find out where she should actually start which will make her next move really easy and guess what she found?
She found a pre action plan before hiring anyone for this job because she knew she can’t do it herself.
She was feeling a bit hungry and decided to have some snaks and while eating she kept on searching and reading the boring stuff after a couple hours research she ended up with this action plan which she named a Pre Action Plan before taking the next move and wrote it down in her daily journal.
After she ended up with reading and taking notes she decided to spend a few hours to workout these things in the next morning
And on the next early morning just before an hour of sun coming out she sat on her table with her notebook. She was energized and ready to plan her next move.
While having her coffee she decided to start from the beginning She quickly got a question in her mind What was the business idea? In just a few seconds she recalled all the idea and got her answer and wrote it down “ Passion of Making Pizzas and Selling them to all the audience in my area with” And that made the first point of the action plan. Define Your Idea.. Behind the scene .
She Wrote that in bold letters. Keep on thinking. She jotted the whole thing down in a simple Google Doc, then roughed it out on a free Business Model Canvas template just to see the idea laid out in front of her.
What was my Goal? Ahh She was amazed as a wave of energy passed through her body and she smiled and answered…. “Make Every Single person of the the bay area to taste the deliciousness of my Pizzas and get used to it” She said she recall this everyday and work for it everyday and every single day of her shop make her more close to her goal. To keep herself honest about it she set the goal up as a few milestones on a Trello board, with a simple Google Sheet on the side to track progress week by week.
Who was my target audience? Her Target audience was youngsters and children of the bay area as some of them were in love with her. She knew every youngster is live on facebook and instagram as nearly 90% of the US population uses the internet on daily basis and 50% of them is the youth. She knew her audience and their in and outs very well, and she confirmed all of it by digging through Facebook Audience Insights and Instagram’s own Insights tab, then wrote it up properly using HubSpot’s Make My Persona tool.
What is your timeline? Maheen knew that pizza season is coming out in the february and she want to have things ready till the mid of january so that she can get 2 weeks to market and make a pace before the demand is out. She mapped the whole run-up week by week on a Trello board, with Google Calendar reminders set for every deadline along the way.
Conduct a Competitive analysis before moving on? She knew that martin, julia and frank were also having pizza shops in the bay area so she went online to do a competitive analysis of what they are doing and what rates they are providing and what discount and deals they are having and what kind of strategy they are using so she can offer something better than them or do something unique. She ran their sites through SEMrush to see what keywords and traffic they were pulling, and checked SimilarWeb to see where their visitors were actually coming from.
What Story you are going to tell? Martin Julia and frank were also selling the pizzas with the best deals they could offer then she was thinking what that shit is which she is having different from them and as she was very intelligent she got that answer
“Delicious Pizzas with more taste in less price and faster service that was what she had in different ”
She sharpened that message using the StoryBrand framework worksheet, and ran a quick search on AnswerThePublic to see what questions people were already asking about pizza in her area.
-- Following these 6 steps she was now ready to make a next 10 steps action plan for her pizza shop website.
Why Should you actually have a website? When she was search last night she researched for a question for around 20 minutes before she got the answer.
She need to build an audience for her pizza shop which interact with her shop on regular basis and to she knew that she could develop a an audience on Facebook but that was not as solid as her on her own website. Because facebook keeps on changing things and now facebook asks us to pay money to reach the audience and that doesn’t workout for the small businesses like maheen’s pizza shop.
Maheen was intelligent and knew to that she could invest that money on her website because she knew the right structure she was going to use for her audience.
Website -> Audience + Market on Social Media + New Audience
She knew that only Martin was doing this not julia and frank.
“Don’t Reply on Social Media use it for marketing instead.. Build your own audience and increase that with social media”. She planned to run the social side day to day through Meta Business Suite, while keeping the website itself as the real home base for her audience.
Know the devices? She was well aware that her target audience browse websites by 90% from the mobile devices and some of them were also using ipads as well and a few were there who were the desktop and notebook users, Remember Maheen was intelligent she knew she should have a website that can have the same look and feel on all the media devices such as iphones, ipads and desktops so she need to have a responsive site. She checked this herself with Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test and ran the design through BrowserStack to see how it actually held up across phones, tablets, and desktops.
The website content? Maheen was intelligent because she was going to make her site for the audience not for herself. That’s why she said “Address and talk about only the Audience ”
She decided to keep the awesome imagery on the site, pulling free high-quality photos from Unsplash and Pexels, putting quick designs together in Canva, and running the copy through Grammarly before it went live.
Blog Strategy? She knew the reason why Julia’s pizza shop was coming out of the box that was because she was having a blog where she was educating her small audience about her expertise of pizza making and she was getting traffic and popularity while martin was having a blog but he was not adding stuff into it from a year and frank was not even having a blog.
She thought to have a more appealing and content rich blog to beat Julia’s pizza shop and get all the juice into her Jar.
To meet this goal she made a clear blog plan that She will help young girls on the problems they were having in making the pizza. She will teach them Pizza recipes She will offer unique discounts to the audience via the blog She picked her topics by running searches through Google Keyword Planner and AnswerThePublic to see exactly what her audience was already looking for.
As soon as she completed the strategy part she moved on 9 more basic technical points which she needed to knew and implement.
Choose the right Domain Name? She started to search for a domain name as her shops name “Maheen’s Pizza Shop” but that was not available she remembered the research last night that a domain name should be short and unique not a creepy name of pizzashop999.com she used instantdomainsearch to find more available domains, checking a few backups on Namecheap and Lean Domain Search too, and decided on maheenspizzashop.com.
Choose the Right hosting company? The right hosting company offers a faster and quicker server response time. Easy to manage web and email stuff. She weighed GoDaddy against Hostinger, Bluehost and SiteGround on speed and price, and decided to go for Godaddy as her domain and hosting provider.
Which CMS she should used? She knew she was going to interact with the audience on daily basis so she should have a content management system where she can easily login, post and manage all the content. She was having options of WordPress, Joomla and Drupal as WordPress was more easy and more popular she decided to use WordPress as her content management system, with Elementor as her page builder so she could design pages herself without touching any code.
SEO stuff? She knew that seo will be an important factor which will help the users to find her site on the search engines as they are the most popular traffic referrals she decided to:
WRite optimized titles for every page of the site. Write Descriptions with the right keywords. Submit site in the popular search engines. Have a sitemap in the site so that every page can be crawled. Use proper heading structure and avoid seo errors.
She handled the titles, descriptions and sitemap with the Yoast SEO plugin, then used Google Search Console to submit the site and keep an eye on how it was being crawled.
Site Speed? Maheen knew the page speed factor as well and tested Julia, frank and martin’s sites for page speed and not a single of them were optimized for speed and were taking more time to load. She knew what Google recommends and decided to have a site which can load in less than 5.0 Seconds, checking her own progress along the way with Google PageSpeed Insights and GTmetrix.
Social Media to integrate? She had figured it out while determining the audience and her audience is more active on Facebook and Instagram so she decided to integrate both of them on her site and make the site’s content easily shareable on these networks, managing both accounts from one place through Meta Business Suite.
Analytics Integration? She knew she need to have a track on what's happening on the site how many visitors are coming From where they are coming and what they are doing on the site and knew Google Analytics is the best Analytics platform and decided to integrate Google Analytics in the site, setting it up through Google Tag Manager and adding Hotjar so she could actually watch heatmaps of how visitors used the site.
Maheen was intelligent………….
Email Signup forms? Remember she was having a goal to develop her our audience on the site? Yeah right so to start with that she knew she need to build her list first to build the list she need to have a email signup form in the site so she decided to have a popup signup form on the homepage and for the blog section a sidebar signup widget and a popup form as well. She managed the growing list in Mailchimp and built the popup and sidebar forms themselves using OptinMonster.
Maheen Knew She should not develop her site instead should hire an expert to take this plan and quickly move on with this.
It just took around 2 hours and maheen came with a workable action plan she really was intelligent now she can hire any digital marketing agency to implement the plan with the maximum ROI.
